Philip Orr improvises life around his activities as composer, arranger, keyboardist, conductor, and educator. Recognized with a
New Jersey State Council for the Arts fellowship and several ASCAPlus Writers Awards, his diverse compositions and arrangements in a
variety of genres reflect his checkered past in classical concert repertoire, traditional sacred music, jazz, pop, gospel, rock,
concert band and chamber ensembles. The former accompanist and sometime arranger for singers Vic Damone and Sandler & Young, his
keyboard work encompasses a broad array of styles in a variety of solo and ensemble roles in the NY/Central NJ/Philadelphia
metropolitan areas. In addition to the Rider University Choir and the choir of Calvary Baptist Church in Hopewell, NJ, he has
conducted choirs and ad hoc instrumental groups for over 35 years. Mr. Orr serves on the faculty of the
Westminster College of the Arts of Rider University, and holds degrees in Sacred Music and Composition from Westminster Choir College.
